Selecting audio device

On the SETTINGS tab click SYSTEM AUDIO SETTINGS at the bottom of the window. This will open the Windows audio control panel.

Notice that the Audio Optimization Experience device is automatically selected as Default Playback Device when AOE is launched.

AOE has no effect on the Default Communications Device.

If an application requires selection of audio output
you must select Audio Optimization Experience(Speakers) in that application’s preferences to hear the AOE effect.

Here are the settings you should use for Skype and other chat applications:

  • Skype audio input – Your microphone or webcam driver.
  • Skype audio output – Digital Power Station driver or Default Playback Device.
  • AOE audio output – Your speakers or headphones hardware device driver


NOTE:

  • The Audio Optimization Experience driver is automatically set as the Default Playback Device when AOE is launched.
  • The last used hardware device is automatically set as Default Playback Device when AOE is quit.

Click System Preferences, Sound. This will open the OSX sound control panel.

Notice that the DPSReflector device is automatically selected as Default Output. If DPSReflector is not selected, then AOE is not processing audio for your Mac.

If an application requires selection of audio output you must select DPSReflector in that application’s preferences to hear the DPS effect.
